Danks recordfirst CG of career in White Sox win
September 29th, 2009 | by kletus25 |09/28/09 – White Sox 6; Indians 1
John Danks did something that he has never done in his three year professional career. He threw his first complete game in a 6-1 victory over the Cleveland Indians at Progressive Field last night. In the victory, his 13th of the year, he gave up only one run on three hits, one walk and seven strikeouts. His offense gave him help in the second inning when they scored three runs with RBI singles by Brent Lillibridge and Gordon Beckham and when Dwayne Wise was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded. The Indians cut into the lead when Shin-Soo Choo led off the seventh with a solo blast to make it 3-1. The White Sox extened the lead in the top of the ninth with a two-run double by Gordon Beckham and a RBI single by Paul Konerko to make it 6-1
The White Sox are now 76-81 and are still in third in the AL Central. They play game two of their three game series with the Cleveland Indians at 6:05 PM CDT at Progressive Field. For the White Sox, RHP Carlos Torres is taking the hill against Indians RHP Justin Masterson.
